Snake Survives Fire

(PORTLAND) -- The Portland Fire Bureau says an eight to ten-foot boa constrictor survived a fire in a southeast Portland duplex early today. The fire was reported about seven o'clock and sent two families into the street. The big snake was found in a glass cage upstairs and fire officials say it appears to have survived with no problems. The fire did 195-thousand dollars damage to the duplex. No one was injured.
